All have a seat and to invite those that otherwise do not feel they have a place at the table. One of the things that we lack in the Church world today is discipleship. That is part of what the table is. But, it is doing it in a way that allows even the lost to feel comfortable.
It is important when we are sitting at the Table to remember what Jesus did. What is sacrifice was really for. His sacrifice was not to make you perfect. We cannot achieve perfection. Jesus’ sacrifice is what allows us to have relationship with God. It does not erase our past, it does not change the things we have done. It just covers them and allows us to be with God. We need to think about this because there will be people who come to the Table that are at different places than other at the Table. We need to have a constant reminder that Jesus has provided for us a way.
The table is not a place to preach at or talk down to people. The Table is that place where we allow people to have an opportunity to learn.
At the Table the only place of honor, the head of the table is to be filled by that of Jesus.
If we do not have Jesus in the seat of honor our message will not be clear. Because we will get in the way and dirty the message.
